Homeschooling (Session Three)

I have successfully homeschooled our children for the past five years. With so much uncertainty about if and how schools are reopening this fall, many families are considering homeschool options for the upcoming year. I have been receiving so many questions about this topic that I decided to share a four-part broadcast series. I’m going to set your mind at ease, give you some helpful tips, and answer your questions! It’s my hope that my perspective and experience will encourage you as you pray about this big decision.

This episode is the live recording of three, where I share ideas and examples of different inexpensive resources I recommend purchasing, and even some practical tips for your setup. Don’t let the pressure of thinking you need a perfect homeschool room overwhelm you! You can absolutely make what you have work. You don’t have to have this big, elaborate setup to be successful at homeschool. I share pictures of what our setup looks like so you can get ideas.

I also encourage you in this session to not get caught up in the unimportant things when it comes to homeschool. While yes, there are benefits like having a flexible schedule and being able to travel as a family for our ministry, to me, the most important part about homeschooling is that I get to be the teacher of my children. I get to be the guard over their eyes and ears. There are things being taught in public schools that a five-year-old should NEVER know about. So take this season with your kids seriously and remember what a gift it is to teach your children.
